BOX OFFICE: Neerja First Week Business [Actuals]

Neerja has done very well in its first week grossing around 34.50 crore nett. The film picked up pace fast on day one and has maintained very well over the weekdays as fas as business in metros are concerned.

The film was made entertainment tax free in Maharashtra on the seventh day and this helped on day seven collections in Mumbai city and Pune. Most other cities in Maharashtra are not good so benefit will be minimal there. Other states could follow but it will be Delhi, Punjab and Karnataka which can give really give a big boost if they go tax free.

The best business for the film has come in Delhi city which has clocked a huge 4.50 crore nett and this is the city not including the rest of the circuit.

The lifetime business of the film will cross 50 crore nett and could even be by the end of week two. Films like Kahaani and Queen grossed 57 crore nett and 61 crore nett respectively and Neerja should have a similar finish and possibly more depending how the next few weeks play out.
